Boehner on IRS: ‘Who’s going to jail over this scandal?

“My
question is, who’s going to jail over this scandal?” the Ohio
Republican said at a press conference with fellow House Republican
leaders Wednesday morning.
An internal audit released Tuesday said the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] wrongly targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status — something agency officials acknowledged late last week.
The
agency has said it used “inappropriate” criteria for figuring out which
tax-exempt groups it would give extra scrutiny to, but has denied it
acted on political motives.

“Someone
made a conscious decision to harass and to hold up these requests for
tax-exempt status,” he said. “I think we need to know who they are and
whether they violated the law. Clearly, someone violated the law.”
