The magnitude of citizen and local government opposition to Governor Cuomo's ‪#‎NYSAFE‬ Act is an unprecedented and historic event in New York State. Since 1777, when George Clinton was inaugurated as the first Governor of New York, never have so many local government bodies, representing millions of state residents, publicly united in opposition to a state law, as have united to reject Governor Cuomo's SAFE Act...a law widely recognized and denounced by citizens, elected officials, law enforcement leaders, and countless groups and organizations, as misguided and unsafe...a law doing little more than restricting the civil rights of law-abiding citizens...a law enacted through the improper, unnecessary use of a "Message of Necessity" to avoid public review, transparency, and intelligent debate.

The 303 municipalities presently opposed to Governor Cuomo's SAFE Act are represented on the map as liberty loving "Shining Stars" of freedom. Each week, a little more darkness gives way to freedom's light. Shine your own light. Follow your own path. Fear not Governance darkness. Continue intelligent, open, informed discussions at municipal and county board meetings. Help your local elected officials pass resolutions opposing Governor Cuomo's SAFE Act, and make your municipality the next Shining Star.
